Hello everyone! TGIM... although I'm not sure how many would agree with me! :)

Alright, let's not gloom over coming back to school after a nice weekend and I'll show you just why we can be happy it's the start of a new week! (in order!)

On Monday, 8th Feb 2010:
DanceFuzion starts its week with another performance, this time for International Culture and Travel Fair (ICTF) 2010!
Time of performance: Around 1pm

Here's more about the event itself:
  • The entire event is from 10am - 5pm
  • A summation of what it's all about: Students from different cultural backgrounds will showcase their cultures, and hence enabling us to experience the different cultures all at once!
  • An authentic culture experience is enhanced through performances, both traditional and modern (like ours!), plus rounds of food from different countries will be served at regular intervals! (Have a TASTE of each country!)
  • Representatives from travel agencies offering attractive travel packages
More to expect on the day!:
  • Free lunch
  • Popular Vouchers
  • Goodie Bags
  • Games
  • Performances!
  • And a chance to win a 4-day Sydney Explorer Tour for Two
On Tuesday, 9th Feb 2010:
Dance Session with Chris, 6.30-8.00pm, NIE Dance Room (@NIE Block 5, Level 2)

Everyone is welcome for this sharing session, and it'll be good fun to learn another new choreo! So come on over and join us, and feel free to bring your friends along! :)

On Wednesday, 10th Feb 2010:
Carol's session resumes this week on Wednesday instead, at 6.30-8.00pm, @ NIE Dance Room!
For those who were present for Carol's session last week, do try to practise the steps to the girls' hip-hop routine (for the song "Give it to me" by Madonna)! :)

If you weren't present last week, not to worry! Come join us this week anyway, it's okay! Everyone is welcome, so feel free to bring your friends! :)

On Thursday, 11th Feb 2010:

After our medley of exciting dance sessions, it'll be the weekend of Chinese New Year!
So what do you say, do we have a great week ahead of us or what? In the meantime, keep it up, working hard for your assignments and work! Remember, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy (or makes Jill a dull girl), so, let's try our best to achieve that necessary balance and enjoy even the tougher times. =)

See you guys soon! :)

Good night and sweet dreams, DanceFuzion!

Hello there everyone!! :)

Hope you have all gotten home safely and had a nice shower and get ready for a good night's sleep! :) We are really glad to see a few more new friends who joined us for Carol's session tonight. It was a real pleasure to have all of you around, really. To Maria, Eunice and Nicole (hope I got all the spellings right), a big big welcome for you to DanceFuzion! Hope to see you again real soon! :)

By the way, here's the title of the song Carol used tonight!
"Give it to Me" by Madonna! (woah!)

So yup, do practise the steps on your own if you have the time! It's easier to remember and grasp the steps that way. Of course, if you can't really grasp all of it just yet, it's alright, just try and you'll get it soon! :)

Next on for this week:
Join us on Thursday 4th Feb 2010 for Beginners' Session with Chris, at 6.30pm-8.00pm at NIE Dance Room! The choreo we'll be learning will be used for the upcoming performance for NIE 60th Anniversary Celebrations (on 27th Feb), so do come down and learn if you're interested to perform. For those who don't, do come down and join us too and enjoy another dance session! Everyone is welcome! :)

Lastly to end the week, DanceFuzion will be performing for the NIE CNY Celebrations on Friday 5th February! It's organised by the CLEAR Club and will be held at the NIE U.iD, starting from 10.30am, and our performance will be at around 11am. Besides being able to enjoy the various performances catered for everyone, there will also be free goodie bags and lunch buffet for everyone! :)

Hope to see you guys for Beginners' Session and our CNY performance! Do have a good night's rest and take care! Good night! :)

Time to hit the sack after a satisfying dance session =)

Hey everyone! Wow, I felt Carol's session tonight was a fruitful one, helping us train not just on the choreography, but also many important basic techniques too which will definitely help us in dance. Hope everyone had the same sentiments, and enjoyed yourselves!

Was absolutely glad to see more new faces today too. A very warm welcome to DanceFuzion! :)

Anyway, here's the song title used for the choreo we danced to today (remember last week, we danced to two different songs, a slow one and another fast one? we did the slow one today.)

and it's titled "I'm The One" by Mary J. Blige. =)

Yup yup, let's "do some homework" and get better next week yeah? =)

Next on, tomorrow (Wednesday 27th Jan 2010) is one of the practices for our NIE Chinese New Year Celebration Performance! For those who are performing, we'll see each other at the dance room at 6.30pm-8pm! :)

And for everyone - Come by on Thursday (28th Jan 2010), 6.30pm-8pm at the Dance Room,
to join us for Beginners' Class, which will be conducted by Alvin! He'll be teaching us a nice choreo which will be used for ICTF performance on 8th February, so for those who wants to perform, please do come down and learn, but if you're not performing, do come down anyway to learn more new steps okay! Everyone is welcome and we'll look forward to seeing you again! :)

Plus a little side note for those who would like to perform for our upcoming public production, do email Mei Ling by the end of this week; and for those who have some nice choreographies up on your pockets, do show Carol your choreos by next week aight! =)

Last but not the least! DanceFuzion's 3-days-2-nights camp starts on Friday! Gotta have ourselves a great time! :)

Ending a colourful post =p

Hey there all DanceFuzion members & friends! Time flies and already, we're in the third week of the new semester. Hope everyone's holding up well despite the slowly increasing workload... :)

Nevertheless, do give yourselves a break every now and then while you're working hard, which may help de-stress and give you more pep for beating those challenging work you're doing!

So, let's take a look at the myriad of fun stuff we've got in store for you this week!

First on, of course, our weekly dance sessions!

-and-

2) Beginners' session is on this Thursday, 28th January 2010, from 6.30-8.00pm @ NIE Dance Room:
Guess who'll be our dance trainer this week? It's Alvin! :)

The choreo he'll be teaching us may be used for an upcoming performance in February, but regardless of whether or not you'd want to join in performing, do join us anyway and learn some new steps! :)

Everyone is welcome for both sessions, so bring your friends along to join us for all the fun! It's also fine if you end classes late, just come by anyway after that! :)

-PLUS!-
Here's an additional fun event for us this week! I'm referring to our DanceFuzion 3-days-2-nights Camp (please refer to the recent email from us for the details!)

We'll be staying at NIE Student Hub Level 3 (indoors with air-con!), and the programme includes a myriad of fun activities both inside NIE and outside school (including a trip to Sentosa for Flying Fox, etc etc!).

So, please confirm your attendance (please also state which days you can make it, although we hope you can be there to enjoy all 3 days 2 nights!) with Mei Ling or through the DanceFuzion email as soon as possible! :)

Updates on Upcoming DF Outings!

Have you heard??

DF will be having an outing to the NIGHT SAFARI on Friday 30th October to celebrate Halloween ;)

The main objective is simply for everyone to bond together and, of course, to have fun! :)

Here are the details:
Although the night safari opens at 7.30pm, we will be meeting at 5.30pm at the main entrance. Each person should need to bring at least $35, which will cover for the admission fee plus train of terror ride.

And, feel free to dress up - spook someone out! or dress up nicely.. :) it's up to you and your creativity! And you won't be the only one dressing up, no worries... ;)

If you would like to come for the outing, you can let our secretary, Mei Ling, know while marking your attendance at dance tomorrow. Alternatively, you can also reply to our welfare manager Joanne's email regarding the outing.

Check it out and have a brief idea of what will be on for that night?

And just to re-update about DF Chalet this coming December...

DF will be having a chalet this coming December from 15-17 December @ Aloha Loyang Garden Terrace, and we'll be having the barbeque pit burning on the second night, that's 16th Dec. Try to at least come for the BBQ ya? It'll be fun! :)

The cost each person will have to pay will depend on the number of days you'll be staying for (overnight for 1 night, 2 nights, or just here for the bbq) and the number of people who'll be going! So try to get all your DF friends to come and just enjoy the holidays together!

So if you already know whether you can make it, and which days you will be staying, please reply to Joanne's email, specifying the days on which you will be there! It's okay if you are still unsure, just keep us updated about your plans when confirmed :)

For other events DF is involved in, ranging from practices, performances and outings, you may click on the "Events" tab above! It has been and will be frequently updated! :)

That's all!! By the way, scroll down for to see another new post on updates for this week's practices! :)
