Coming back after a 3-day weekend! :D

Greetings to all of DF!!

I hope y'all had enjoyed your long 3-day weekend.. probably still had work to do but at least, had some rest at the same time?

Once again, HAPPY DEEPAVALI to all our Indian friends! Hope you had really enjoyed the festivities!

As mentioned in the last post, there won't be any dance practice with Carol tonight (Monday 19th October) due to the public holiday. But let's look forward to what's on the menu for this week...

ELSON LOW on WEDNESDAY!! (haha, just kidding! not for food!)

21st October, Wednesday: Beginners' Class with Elson Low - 6.30-8.15 pm
@ NIE Dance Room

Our beginners' class resumes this Wednesday! And we've got our very own member, Elson Low, to conduct the session. With 10 years of dance experience under his belt, Elson is sure to wow you with his skills. Come over and pick up a few techniques, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!

Everyone is welcome, so you can bring your friends!

See you all there!

Post-Dance Wednesday's Session

Hey all! :)

Once again, thanks for coming over for Willie's Sharing Session together on Wednesday, 14th October 09. Really hope you all had enjoyed it! =)

There's just a couple of reminders about the few announcements after today's session:
1) There will be NO Carol's Session on Monday, 18th October 2009, because it's a public holiday for the Deepavali festivities! So, seize the chance and have a good rest. =)

2) DF will be having an outing to the Night Safari on Friday 30th October 2009! Fees should be about $25 for the admission; and about $33 if we're taking the tram. Do join us if you want to! Just approach any of the committee members for more details. And yeah, we can dress up.. it'll be fun! =)

Take care all and have a good rest tonight! =)

What's On, DF?

Hello everybody!!!

I hope everyone had enjoyed Carol's session just now. Here are just a couple of reminders about what we have again this week:

Willy's Sharing Session
on Wednesday, 14 October 2009 @ NIE Dance Room, 6.30 - 8.15 pm
Yup! It's on! This won't be the usual beginner's class, as Willy will be sharing with us something that he learned from an overseas instructor. It's another great learning opportunity. But not to worry, do come along to learn, and most importantly, have fun! As usual, it is open for everyone! Feel free to bring your friends as well!

And (just a few more) announcements for those who weren't in today, and to remind those who were:
1) DF's HALLOWEEN OUTING
We'll be having an outing on 30th October (Friday), to the Night Safari!
It'll be for fun, and for all DF - seniors and newcomers alike - to bond together! We invite all of you to join us! And yup, it'll be up to you if you might want to dress up to spook people up or not..

Before the details are confirmed soon, please do keep that day free if you plan to join in the fun!

2) DF's CHALET
We're planning a Chalet some time this December, for a real outlet and FUN after the gruelling exam period! Stay posted as the details should be confirmed again soon!

Until then, hope to see you all on Wednesday! Have a nice rest, y'all!

-

After Carol's session just now, I left feeling really glad. It was wonderful to see more new faces, to join in our growing DF family. I hope everyone had enjoyed the session, where we 'travelled across the floor', grooving to the music, learnt basic techniques, did the continuation of the choreo for "Ring-a-Ling"!

I understand that it may sometimes be difficult to catch up on the steps, but really, don't worry about it! Feel free to approach the seniors or anyone else, maybe for a recap before the start of each session or something. Don't give up, because with practice, you'll be able to get it down pat! Don't be afraid. Dance is enjoyable, and even more with all of you to dance with. =)

Dance Practice again for a new week!!

Hey all! If you felt the same way as I did, you may have been stressed out over all the upcoming tests, assignments, and deadlines to meet... but the body still seems twitching to dance again! And yeah, here it is finally! A new week begins with practices with DF

Here's what we can look forward to for this week:

Carol's Session as usual on Monday, 12 October 2009, 6.30 - 8 pm, @ NIE Cardio Room
Carol will teach us the continuation of last week's fun choreo on Ring-a-ling by the Black Eyed Peas!
Don't worry, if you are unsure with the steps, or were not here last week, you can come earlier at 6pm, and we'll go through the steps again together!

For those who applied for the flash mob, practice will continue right after Carol's session, from 8pm onwards!

On Wednesday, 14th October 2009, from 6.30 - 8.15 pm, @ NIE DanceRoom, Willy's Session is on!
Our apologies for last week's change in schedule for Willy's Session... but here it is, finally! We'll get to learn from Willy as he shares what he had learned from an overseas instructor. Be prepared for more challenging steps, but don't worry, do join in, it is an invaluable experience and it'll be fun!

Of course, all our sessions are open to all, so bring your friends and come have a good time dancing! See you all then!

Post-Dance on Wednesday; Recharging for Monday!

HELLO to all in the DF Family, including all newcomers

We'd just ended our Wednesday night with a fun beginners' class with John Chok lasting from 6.30 till 8.15 pm.

This started with the usual (and vital!) stretching exercises, and continued with some practice in bouncing, and bouncing with the choreo of Super Junior's "Sorry Sorry". Last but not the least, we ended the session by learning a fun choreo of "Break the Ice" by Britney Spears.

I hope everyone thoroughly enjoyed the session as much as we did, and that you had gained something you find useful from it. Once again, a million thanks to John for all the invaluable guidance and patience in his instructions.

Although the session had ended, as John had mentioned, feel free to keep practising until your body gets used to it! Anywhere, in the shower, while you're taking a break from studying, or anytime you'd like!

Dance sessions are over for this week ..but..! We can look forward to another great Carol's session on Monday the 12th October, and Willy's sharing session on Wednesday. Just stay posted or check your emails; we'll update on the details again soon! In the meantime, do get some good rest!

'Recharging battery for Monday"..

By the way, did you know that NIE DanceFuzion also has its own Facebook Group? Just follow this link to get there. There's a frequently updated list of the songs used by the instructors for the choreos during each session. If you've been to DF sessions or are interested in coming over, feel free to join this group, post on the wall, etc. Of course, there's also a tagboard on this blog as well. Anything to suit your preferences! Of course, besides getting important info disseminated to everyone, the main purpose of all these is for the DF family to be able to bond together!

Last but not the least, good luck everyone in coping with schoolwork and other daily challenges, such as juggling everything together. We can do it, never give up. Rest well and eat well. Take good care of yourselves! See you all around really soon!

Cheers!
